Title Recognition Programs
Parent Club Title Recognition

These programs allow for the recognition of breed-specific Parent Club Performance Programs.  Parent Clubs administer their own test and award titles for successful performance excelling in the skills for which they were originally developed.  Approved titles can be officially recognized by the AKC and in some cases vital for the future development of each breed.

Diving Dogs

This fun and easy sport involves tossing your dog's favorite toy into a pool while they eagerly wait on a 40-foot dock.  On your command, watch them sprint, leap off the dock, and splash into the water to retrieve their prize!  Whether your dog's jump is a modest 2 feet or an impressive 30 feet, you're sure to have a fantastic time and may even get a little wet.   North America Diving Dogs (NADD) | Diving Dogs Events, Facilities, and Information

This fast-paced sport combines the joy of fetch with a variety of fun games that both dogs and their humans can enjoy. UpDog invites dogs of all breeds, sizes, and shapes to join in the excitement—if your dog can fetch they can play!  Earn points in each game and work towards UpDog Achievements (or “UPs”), and once you've secured a medal UP in at least three games, you can apply for the AKC Disc Dog titles.

Flyball

As the dogs line up, you can feel the thrill in the air, each pup eager for their turn. When the gun fires, they sprint over hurdles, racing to the box where they spring into action, pushing the pad to release a tennis ball.  With lightning speed, catch the ball and race back to their handlers, ensuring a seamless handoff for the next competitor.  It's a fast-paced relay that showcases the incredible agility and teamwork of these amazing dogs.

Public Service Dog Titling Program

AKC is proud to announce the launch of it's new Public Service Dog Titling Program, designed to honor the invaluable contributions of police dogs in law enforcement.  This program features three distinct titles recognizing excellence in Detection, Patrol Work and Tracking.  The Detection Dog title is awarded to dogs trained to locate illegal or unauthorized substances.  The Patrol Dog title acknowledges those skilled in human scent & evidence detection, criminal apprehension and obedience.  A Tracking Dog is specially trained to detect and follow the scent of a specific person, as well as locate evidence along the path while distinguishing between different cross tracks.  Public Service Dogs naturally have the instincts, drive, and temperament that have been cultivated over generations.  They undergo extensive training, are extremely valued by their unit and play a crucial role in serving the public effectively.  Their dedication and skills make them indispensable partners in law enforcement and Search and Rescue operations.
